HATHA
Hatha Yoga is a type of yoga that focuses on physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation.
The goal of Hatha Yoga is to create a balance between the mind, body, and spirit by practicing physical and mental disciplines. The physical postures of Hatha Yoga are designed to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and posture, while the breathing exercises aim to increase lung capacity, calm the mind, and reduce stress. Hatha Yoga is a popular form of yoga that is often practiced for its physical and mental health benefits.
VINYASA
Vinyasa Yoga is a style of yoga that emphasizes fluid movement and breath control, often referred to as “flow.”
In Vinyasa Yoga, movements are synchronized with the breath, creating a continuous flow of postures that transition smoothly from one to the next. Each movement is linked to an inhale or exhale, and the transitions between poses are often as important as the poses themselves. Vinyasa Yoga can be physically challenging, as it involves a lot of movement and can be quite dynamic. It is often practiced as a form of exercise, but also has mental benefits such as reducing stress and improving focus.
ASHTANGA
Ashtanga Yoga is a physically demanding and dynamic style of yoga that involves a specific sequence of postures that are practiced in a set order.
The practice consists of six series of progressively challenging poses that are synchronized with breath and movement. Each series builds upon the previous one, and the practice is designed to generate heat, build strength, and improve flexibility. Ashtanga Yoga is often referred to as "power yoga," and is suitable for those who are looking for a more physically challenging yoga practice. The focus is on maintaining a consistent and steady breath while moving through the postures, which can also have a calming effect on the mind.
YIN
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that involves holding seated or reclined postures for an extended period of time, typically between 3-5 minutes or more.
The practice emphasizes relaxation and stillness, and encourages practitioners to release tension in their muscles and connective tissues through deep stretching. Unlike other forms of yoga that focus on dynamic movements, Yin Yoga poses are held passively, with the support of props such as blocks, bolsters, and blankets. This allows the body to relax and surrender into the pose, promoting a deeper release of tension and increased flexibility over time. Yin Yoga is also known for its meditative qualities, as the extended holds encourage practitioners to cultivate mindfulness and awareness of their breath and body sensations.
