Bio:

Dr. Wanida Lewis started practicing yoga in 2010 as part of her distance running regimen while in graduate school in Raleigh, NC. It was not love at first practice, but eventually Wanida grew to love yoga over time especially for her shin splints. After finishing her doctoral degree, she moved to Minneapolis and completed her restorative, yin, and 200 hour vinyasa certifications at the Yess Yoga Studio. In 2019, she received her trauma sensitive certification from Transformation Yoga Project. In Dr. Lewis relocated to Accra, Ghana in 2020. She is devoted to using yoga as a tool to reduce stress and trauma for communities of color.
