My name is Alex Gitonga. I grew up in Embu, on the slopes of Mount Kenya. It was during my time in school that my interest in yoga began. I came across a yoga book and as a member of my school’s acrobatics gymnastic team, I was inspired by the various poses shown.
For me, every time we step onto our mats, we begin a journey – a journey home to ourselves. Yoga is about celebrating the adventure of life, being human, our uniqueness, but also our connection to all things. Coming from a background in dance, I’ve always found joy and expression through movement.
