Nandiwe’s passion for Yoga began during the 2020 lockdown period. As the catastrophe of the Coronavirus exploded in chaos, she went inner. Guided by her High Power, she discovered inner peace like nothing she has experienced before. Yoga and meditation opened an radical approach to extraordinary possibilities and manifestations. Simultaneously, her childhood traumas were addressed one breath at a time. In 2022 she decided to complete her Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) in a 300-hour Hatha qualification with Yoga Alliance International ( South Africa). Subsequently, she has opened her practice in South Africa, the United States, and online; offering sessions through private, group and corporate settings. In South Africa she regularly teaches at the well-known gym, Virgin Active, and private studios in Johannesburg. She carries a light and love that fills the room with positive vibrations that leaves her class in tranquility.

Neo is a certified 200hr Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, Meditation Guide and Heal Your Life® Practitioner. Her sessions are intuitively curated to emphasize moving with breath, slowing down, resting, and reconnecting with the body. Neo centers her sessions for those embarking on their yoga journey with the intention to co-create a safe and inclusive space dedicated to reframing the narrative that rest is a luxury, particularly within marginalized communities. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic in 2020, Neo faced burnout, hopelessness, and a diagnosis of Major Depression and Panic Disorder. While receiving necessary medical support, she turned to meditation, breathwork, and yoga to support her mental health and found community and renewal, deepening her spiritual connection and tapping into the ancient wisdom of her ancestors. This pivotal moment led Neo on a profound path of self-healing, rooted in self-acceptance and spiritual connection. Now, Neo is driven to co-create safe spaces for emotional wellness and holistic healing, empowering others to prioritize self-care and reclaim their vitality. Neo sees the physical body as an instrument for exploration, guiding her students to experience breath, release perfection, and notice what it feels like to be in their body. By encouraging curiosity and attentive listening to the body’s cues, she helps individuals unlock the transformative potential within and journey back home to self.

Salam, I am Rugi, a Senegalese-American yoga instructor and founder of Jarama Yoga. I started practicing yoga as a university student in 2012, and over the years have acquired over 500hr RYT and several certifications in yoga including vinyasa yoga & ayurveda, prenatal and postnatal yoga, restorative yoga, and most recently oncology yoga. Jarama Yoga was created as a platform to make yoga accessible to women in Senegal and the African Diaspora. Since 2017 it has allowed me to lead community and corporate events, women’s circles, group and private classes primarily in Dakar, Senegal. I believe that yoga should “feel good” and my philosophy as a yoga teacher is to combine the physical and spiritual practice of yoga for stress management, self-discovery, and added sweetness to life. Holding women individually and collectively at the center, my approach caters to the needs and wellbeing of women through different phases of life while navigating the menstrual cycle, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause and growing older. Off of the yoga mat, I am an educator and researcher with expertise in environmental science, sustainable development, agricultural leadership and community education. A lover of all things Africa, some of my favorite destinations so far include Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Zambia and South Africa! I enjoy art, plants, cooking, nature walks, and listening to afrobeats. For a personalized yoga sequence designed to meet your special needs, or for group bookings (classes, events, retreats etc) please feel free to reach out to me. I communicate in English, French and Wolof. Jarama, Thank You
