Rwanda

Yoga in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city, is slowly gaining ground. One of the organizations leading the way in promoting yoga in Rwanda is LiveWell Rwanda, a wellness social enterprise based in Kigali. There is also Ituze Mindfulness and Yoga Centre and Heaven Fitness center that are known for yoga in Rwanda. Check out some our Rwanda teachers below:

Jen is originally from the U.S. but now is local in both Kigali and Musanze, Rwanda and has also lived in Tanzania. She speaks English, Kinyarwanda, and Swahili, but prefers to instruct mainly in English. Her flows range from gentle to power vinyasa, and one of her best known classes combines vinyasa and yin yoga into a ‘sweat and stretch’ practice. Outside of the studio, you’ll find her around cycling, hiking, running/walking, or playing pickleball.

Yoga is my passion and life style in general. Understanding the concept of yoga you understand life and how to live.

Joseph Desideratus Dushimimana is a social entrepreneur who uses mindfulness-based practices to serve the community.He graduated from the 3-year Africa Yoga Project Academy Program; he is Level II certified teacher by the Batiste Institute of Power Yoga; Level III certified breath-body-mind instructor and he did trauma-informed training. He has learned mindfulness meditation under different Theravada teachers. He is a Progressive student of Qigong at Immortal Arts Academy. These practices have been therapeutic tools for him and also an opportunity to be of service to the community. His teaching style is a blend of meditative postures, movements, and breath work.

Marcelline is a young Cameroonian lady passionate about mental health and wellness . She started her journey as an engineer but with stress, shd turned to engineer the mind and body with the help of yoga.

Angelique Numugeni is an experienced Life Skills Senior Coordinator. Driven by her love of working for the community she takes pride in helping others by teaching them skills that will have a strong and positive impact for years to come.

I am a wellness coach and yoga Instructor. I have been teaching yoga and Wellness for the past 9 years.
